Karen has a Science degree from the University of Western Australia, studied holistic nutrition at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition and is currently completing her Masters in Applied Nutrition and Health Coaching. She is also a certified Epigentic Human Potential Coach after completing the certification from Apeiron Acadamy.
Although currently based in Perth Australia, she has travelled extensively and in the past lived in North America and Asia. Through skype and her online programs Karen has coached clients all over the world and offers customized packages that you can be a part of from the comfort of your own home.
I was so lucky that I grew up eating healthy foods (thanks mum!), was into sports and had a family that supported a healthy lifestyle.
But then I hit those first years of University where I forgot everything I already knew about eating healthy and started trying every new fad diet out there to lose weight.
You name it, I have probably tried it and so the yo-yo dieting continued and my relationship with food worsened. I became completely disconnected from my body and tortured myself over every pound on the scale. I suffered from anxiety, my moods were all over the place. My standard answers to the question “how are you” was tired or busy!
Until I got real about changing my focus.
I let go of the idea that the scales were my only measure of what is healthy and focused on nourishing my body with foods that made me not only feel great, but feel energized!
I studied everything I could get my hands on in regards to nutrition and lifestyle strategies that could help me start feeling energized and alive.
And I lost weight as a welcome side effect.
I started to become the go to person for my family and friends as I helped them decipher body issues, answered questions about different foods and recipes and helped them in their own journeys to health. So I finally decided to make my passion a career and went back to formally study at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition.
