The Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Honey Stinger Bar that you buy in stores actually tastes pretty good. But I knew we could still do better with a homemade variety. You can make this bar at home with only 7 ingredients. Then you will have a protein bar which not only tastes better then the store bought variety, but is also better for you. One of these ingredients are almonds.
Why Are Almonds Good For Us?
- They help lower cholesterol and reduce the risk of heart disease.
- Low GI.
- High in Vitamin E.
- Lots of magnesium and potassium.
- Have healthy fats.
These Dark Chocolate Coconut Almond Honey Stinger Bars are awesome for energy. You could also totally swap the raw honey for coconut nectar if you wanted. Or use a little less honey and a little more almond butter and they still taste just as good. The ingredients below make four bars each 42g each.
Just add all the ingredients into a blender or even just a large mixing bowl and mix together. You just have to make sure all the ingredients are properly mixed but I have actually made these in a blender and a bowl and both turned out great!
Separate the mixture into four portions and mold into bars.
- 40g vanilla whey protein powder.
- 15g crushed almonds.
- 20g unsweetened coconut.
- 30g almond butter.
- 20g coconut oil.
- 55g raw honey.
- Chocolate Coating (melted dark chocolate or make your own chocolate coating using 4 tablespoons of coconut oil, 6 tablespoons of raw cacao and 1 tablespoon of your sweetener of choice so either honey, agave or brown rice syrup work well).
Approx macros total mixture (4 bars): Calories 222, Carbohydrate 13.3g, Sugar 12g, Protein 11.2g, Fat 14.6g
