This healthy and tasty shake is something that you can easily make to combat your low enegy levels. I’ve actually added Maca into this shake and trust me, if you’re not too familiar with it, you’d be surprised with the benefits of Maca.
What is Maca?
Maca is considered a superfood. It comes from a root that belongs in the radish family that was traditionally grown in the mountains of Peru. It’s usually available in powder form after it’s harvested and ground. Not known to everyone, this root is rich in nutrients. To name a few, it has:
- Calcium (even higher than the level of calcium found in milk)
It is high in phytonutrients and it contains essential amino acids. Given the number of nutrients present in this one type of root, you can imagine the benefits of Maca that you can reap by adding this on to your shake.

1. Maca can help if you have hormonal imbalances. This is especially useful if you are experiencing PMS, menaopause or if you are diagnosed with Polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).

Ok, so let’s get right into how to make our Maca Shot Shake.
- 5g Maca Powder
- 100g banana (1 large banana)
- 25g protein powder (1 scoop)
- 250ml almond milk (1 cup)
Just add all the ingredients to the blender and you are ready to go.
Macros per Shake: Calories 239.8, Carbohydrate 29.6g, Sugar 20.6g, Fibre 5.3g, Protein 22.6g, Fat 4.6g
(Macros based on organic whey isolate protein powder. Values will vary depending on the protein powder used.)
