So what are some of the naturitional benefits of watermelon? Watermelon is more than 91% water. This is not a substitute for water but this surely is one tasty way of staying hydrated. There is one thing that you should know. Watermelon is not just all water. In fact, this fruit is packed with vitamins and minerals which can have a positive impact on your health. I often get asked ‘can pregnant women eat watermelon’? Not only they can, but it is actually one of the better things for pregnant women to eat. So go for it.

High in Potassium

Watermelons are high in potassium. This is beneficial in lowering one’s blood presure. It also helps in cleaning out the toxins found in the kidneys. Because it is also high in water content, it encourages frequent urination which is helpful in cleaning out the kidneys.

Heat Stroke Prevention

The fruit is very effective in regulating your body temperature especially if you live in the tropical regions of the world. Reach out for a slice of watermelon during the summer in order to prevent yourself from getting heat stroke. This is mainly because of the fruit’s high water content.

Watermelon contains lycopene which helps in preventing cancer. Do you know that watermelon contains more lycopene than raw tomatoes?
