Creamy Mango Berry Smoothie
Slimming ingredient: Glucomannan
What is Glucomannan?
It is a tasteless soluble fiber that is super absorbent, absorbing up to 50 times its own weight. As it is so absorbent it is useful as a smoothie thickener. Unlike other thickeners it is great for the waistline and can assist with reducing appetite and hunger pangs.
Ingredients:
Half a cup of frozen blueberries
Half a cup of fresh mango
One cup of water
One cup of ice
Half a teaspoon of glucomannan powder
Instructions:
Place ingredients in a blender, leaving the addition of glucomannan to last.
Sprinkle the glucomannan powder over the blender’s contents.
Blend and serve.

Slimming ingredient: Decaffeinated coffee
Why Decaffeinated coffee?
Crush not only those coffee cravings but also those hunger cravings with decaffeinated coffee. While the caffeine is removed in decaf, many of its original antioxidants are still present and can be benefited from. In fact, decaf has been shown to be even more effective at reducing hunger than regular coffee. With Its appetite suppressing effects, recorded to last up to 4 hours.
Ingredients:
One cup of heated almond milk
One scoop of your favorite chocolate whey protein powder
One teaspoon of instant decaffeinated coffee
One teaspoon of unsweetened baking cocoa
Instructions:
Heat the almond milk to your desired drinking temperature.
Mix the instant decaffeinated coffee into the heated almond milk.
Mix all the ingredients in the blender and serve.
Flaxseed Frosted Smoothie
Slimming ingredient: Flaxseed
Why Flaxseed?
Flaxseeds are high in fiber and omega 3 fatty acids. They can be used as a creative way to thicken up a smoothie without the additional calories. Flaxseed’s can also help a smoothie feel more filling due to its high fiber content, prolonging fullness and reducing feelings of hunger.
Flaxseed Frosted Smoothie Recipe
Ingredients:
One cup of almond milk.
Half a scoop of your favorite vanilla whey protein powder.
One teaspoon of coconut extract.
Half a cup of ice.
Two teaspoon of unsweetened baking cocoa.
One teaspoon of honey.
One tablespoon of ground golden flaxseed.
One tablespoon of shredded coconut.
Instructions:
Pour the first 5 ingredients into the blender.
Add the honey and ground flaxseed.
Blend and pour into a glass.
Sprinkle the shredded coconut on top of the smoothie.
Serve.
